Summer in a Cave [Instrumental]

By Gene Bodem on February 24, 2026 12:56 pm

a song I made inspired by a photo EP cover, I listened to this song called Chimes made by Hudson Mohawke, and I love how the photo looks, bunch of people in a pool swimming with there swim rings during the summer days, it gave me this feeling of like I'm watching myself go back in this space of where everyone is just having fun.

So I wanted to make something with that idea, like a song about "the feeling of a weird nostalgia trip"
I gave it my spin and plan to release it as a single on streaming platforms,

Thank you for listening and reading lol.

That beat has a ton of thump and bounce when it comes in.
Is Summer Horror a genre, because that's what I'm getting from the washed out sunny day sounds mixed with the slightly creepy progressions and melody.
The second half really reinforces with the new instruments and layers

You described in such a way where it feels right, this could feel eerie yet warm from a place.

the second half uses acoustics more and guitars opposite to the first beginning where synths played just a little fun fact. thanks
